Follow the NLF on InstagramTwitter and Facebook. This is the SweetLax Florida 2020 and 2021 preview for the 2019 NLF Club National Championships. We’ll be profiling some of the top players from every 2020 AA and 2021 AA teams who will be in attendance.

2020
Top Commits

Marcelo Arteaga, midfield, Gulliver (Fla.) / Johns Hopkins
Kaden Brothers, defense, Salisbury (Conn.) / Johns Hopkins
Eric Dobson, midfield, Fleming Island (Fla.) / Notre Dame
Dylan Hess, midfield, Ponte Vedra (Fla.) / Georgetown
Carter Parlette, midfield, Ponte Vedra (Fla.) / Notre Dame

Top Uncommitted Players

Ben Calvert, LSM, Bishop Moore (Fla.) – Calvert flashes the stick that you like to see out of your LSM, and he’s a natural cover guy with a high IQ and tremendous athleticism.

Reece Riccardo, attack, Oxbridge (Fla.) – A smaller, quicker lefty finisher, Riccardo uses his change-of-direction ability and quickness to get to the rack, where he’s almost automatic.

Davis Smith, defense, Ponte Vedra (Fla.) – Smith played maybe his best lacrosse of the summer at the Naptown Challenge, where he helped SweetLax reach the final thanks to his great stick and excellent footwork. He can cover a ton of ground and is superb at collecting ground balls off the turf.

2021
Top Uncommitted Players

Tucker Mullen, attack, Taft (Conn.) – Mullen played midfield for Taft this spring, but he’s at his best as a lefty quarterback type at X. He’s a terrific dodger who’s very confident in his ability, and he sees open teammates well.

Trace Davidson, midfield, Naples (Fla.) – An All-American in Florida as a sophomore, Davidson excels between the lines and offers a lot of versatility. He’s got the ability to get up the field quickly and score, but he’s also a standout defender who plays man-down for SweetLax.

Conor O’Neill, goalie, Salisbury (Conn.) – O’Neill, the son of former New England Patriot Patrick O’Neill, plays up with the SweetLax ’20s, a testament to his ability. He figures to slide into Salisbury’s starting spot next year, a mantle held by former SweetLax standout Logan McNaney, and it’s because of his ability to come up with clutch saves to go along with outstanding communication skills and smooth outlet passes.
