Seven NLF Players Named to Under Armour All-America Game in Wave 4
The final results are in, and they’re even more staggering than anyone could have expected.
Seven players who plied their club trade with NLF clubs were chosen to the prestigious Under Armour All-America Game in Wave Four, which means that 29 of the 44 players who will suit up June 29 at Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field played club for NLF members.
“It’s an incredible achievement for the 44 players who were chosen to the team, and we’re particularly excited for the 29 boys who played for NLF clubs,” NLF co-director Sean Morris said. “We’ve always believed that iron sharpens iron, and when two-thirds of the players deemed to be the best in the country come from a group of 15 clubs, it really reinforces just how good the NLF is. Every one of our six founding members had at least one player chosen to play in the game, as did six of our affiliate members. The clubs are absolutely loaded with talent every year, and this lends credence to their status as the best in the country. We can’t wait to watch the guys in action.”

Emmett Barger, midfield, St. Anne’s Belfield (Va.) / MadLax – Notre Dame. Inside Lacrosse ranking: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and No. 45 overall
“Emmett is a player that has really come on strong and developed tremendously in the past year, especially after playing with (No. 1-ranked 2019 recruit) Connor Shellenberger at St. Anne’s Belfield,” Xanders said. “He has a special ability to make things happen as both an attackman and as a midfielder, and he’s figuring out how to consistently dodge from all of the spots on the field to make him an even better player.”
Aiden Blake, midfield, Haddonfield (N.J.) / Big 4 HHH – Cornell. Inside Lacrosse ranking: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and No. 59 overall
“He’s somewhat of a late bloomer, and I really started to notice him about a year and a half ago in the fall of 2017,” Xanders said. “After that, he was excellent and turned a bunch of heads last summer at the Under Armour Underclass Games. He passes the eye test with his size and speed combination, and he’s an impressive two-way midfielder who takes faceoff wings and reminds a lot of people of Cornell’s Connor Fletcher. He’s made a lot of things happen in South Jersey for Haddonfield.”

Jake Bonomi, midfield/attack, St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) / Long Island Express – Michigan. Inside Lacrosse ranking: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and No. 23 overall
“A converted midfielder, Jake is a really flashy player who likes to take risks,” Xanders said. “A former MVP of the All-Star Game at Maverik Showtime, he’s an extremely proficient dodger and he’s been outstanding as an attackman, where he’s made some incredible plays for St. Anthony’s. I like him as a midfielder at the next level.”
Peter Garno, midfield, Haverford (Pa.) / Mesa – Virginia. Inside Lacrosse ranking: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and No. 35 overall
“I’m not sure there’s a better midfield shooter in the country than Garno,” Xanders said. “He’s as good a HS midfield shooter as you’ll find, but as I’ve watched Haverford more and more, I’ve seen how he’s transformed from a spot shooter to more of a dodging threat. He’s a volume scorer who’s had some games this spring where he’s had five, six, seven goals, and he’s been really impressive.”
Ed Arnold, LSM/defense, Manhasset (N.Y.) / Long Island Express – Penn. Inside Lacrosse ranking: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and No. 40 overall
“One of the things that jumps out about Arnold is you really see his motor and how much he does,” Xanders said. “He takes LSM runs, he’ll jam you at the faceoff X, he can play close, and I love his leadership qualities and tenacity. He’s done a really good job as a 1-on-1 defender, and I can see him playing from Day 1 at Penn.”
Max Schalit, LSM, Ponte Vedra (Fla.) / SweetLax Florida – Notre Dame. Inside Lacrosse ranking: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and No. 25 overall
“Schalit has stood out for a long time for SweetLax Florida,” Xanders said. “You notice the type of athlete that he is and how hard he plays. He’s a long pole that’s transformed his game, and despite playing average competition in the Jacksonville area, he’s become more fundamentally sound. I feel very good about (Notre Dame assistant coach) Gerry Byrne continuing to polish his game in South Bend.”
Ryan Schriber, defense, Wilton (Conn.) / Express North – Michigan. Inside Lacrosse ranking: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and No. 29 overall
“The more I watched Schriber, the more I was impressed with his ability to cover both big and small attackmen,” Xanders said. “I think he really got noticed when he covered (No. 1-ranked 2020) Brennan O’Neill at Under Armour and did as good a job on him as anyone has before. I like his ability to cover down low and he does a phenomenal job on bigger attackmen, which bodes well for him at Michigan. He’s the type of defenseman that the Wolverines can build their defense around.”
