Follow the NLF on InstagramTwitter and Facebook. This is the SweetLax Upstate 2020 and 2021 preview for the 2019 NLF Club National Championships. We’ll be profiling some of the top players from every 2020 AA and 2021 AA teams who will be in attendance.

2020
Top Commits

Chris Arceri, faceoff midfield, Smithtown East (N.Y.) / Penn
Ross Burgmaster, defense, Auburn (N.Y.) / Notre Dame
Ryan MacKenzie, midfield, Christian Brothers Academy (N.Y.) / Duke
Patrick McIntosh, attack, Salisbury (Conn.) / Virginia
Casey McDermott, attack, Brighton (N.Y.) / Johns Hopkins

Top Uncommitted Players

Hunter Parucki, midfield, St. Joseph (N.Y.) – Parucki brings a ton of toughness to the table as a between-the-lines midfielder. He’s not afraid to battle for ground balls, and he can get it up the field in a hurry.

Buddy Pelish, defense, Penfield (N.Y.) – A quietly effective cover guy, Pelish won’t throw a bunch of checks, but he does a nice job of matching feet with attackmen and forcing them to pass out of the matchup. His high IQ enables him to make smart decisions off the ball.

Trey Scotti, defense, Salisbury (Conn.) – A starter on the back end on Salisbury’s top 10 team this spring, Scotti brings a ton of energy and a big presence on the field to go with a great stick.

2021
Top Uncommitted Players

Ryan McGorry, midfield, St. Joseph (N.Y.) – Highlights. A long, rangy righty midfielder, McGorry has already visited a service academy this summer and it’s not hard to see why he’ll be a highly sought-after recruit. McGorry, who made the All-Star Game at Maverik Showtime, has got big-time shooting range.

Evan Richardson, goalie, Watertown (N.Y.) – An imposing presence in the SweetLax cage, Richardson has both the size and confidence that you like to see out of a No. 1 goalie. He also has good fundamentals and makes smart decisions in the clearing game.

Jack Wallace, defense, Pittsford (N.Y.) – Wallace is tough and mean and plays bigger than his size. He also has a great stick and loves to push transition to get the ball upfield.
